Young Indian Talent in Deccan Chargers

Last 2 seasons we saw Young Harmeet Singh and T Suman develop himself to perform at important occasions. But last year DC seriously missed one extra batsman as they were forced to pick Venu Gopal Rao who never performed.

Shikhar Dhawan, Amit Mishra, Pragyan Ojha , Ishant Sharma and Manpreet Gony are capped Indian players.

Lets Look at the closer look Capped New Imports this year:

Amit Mishra: Played and excelled for Delhi last 2 seasons. He troubled rival batsman with this leg break.

42 wickets in 31 matches at avg of 18.92 in IPL. Had a forgettable T20 debut for India.

Should be very significant for DC. Can share the spin attack with Ojha.

Manpreet Gony : Righ Arm medium pace bowler who got important wickets for CSK in last IPL seasons.

22 wickets in 23 Matches at an average of 27.95. Best: 3/34

Shikhar Dhawan: Left handed batsman who was with Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils last seasons. He is remembered for a record 507 runs in 7 matches of U 19 World cup. He might open the innings for DC. Very important player for chargers as the only capped batsman

975 runs in 42 T20 matches at decent average of 27.00. Highest of 75 with 8 fifties.

Ishant Sharma: Not much has to be said about him. Great bowler who has not shown his best in IPL for KKR last season. Hope he strikes form through Deccan.

Now Coming to Uncapped players:

Ishank Jaggi, D Ravi Teja, Harmeet Singhm Bharat Chipli and Sunny Sohal are ones who have had t20 debut.

Ishank Jaggi: was with RCB last few seasons. Stupendous batsman in First class cricket. Would rate him as good batsman for DC. Hope he clicks

He has made 148 runs in 9 matches at average of 21.09.

Bharat Chipli: Right haned batsman made his debut (Opened and made 8(11)) in Twenty20 cricket with RCB against CSK on 28th of April, 2008.

4 matches 54 runs with a highest of 34. Looking at his first class statistics, he is a much better player. It will be good if he clicks this time as there is huge dearth of Indian batsman for DC. I expect him to play today in DC vs RR Match 2 of IPL 4.

Sunny Sohal

Right Hand Batsman who had average career with Kings XI.

264 runs in 21 matches at a forgettable average of 15.06

Dwaraka Ravi Teja

Has been playing for DC on and off. Unaggressive player who if scores consistently can be useful to the team. No huge hopes for this season though.

346 runs of 25 matches at an average of 19 and highest of 34.

Harmeet Singh has shown promise as bowler, however with so many good quality bowling options, I wonder if he will get chances this time.

Amanna Ashish Reddy Righ arm medium and RHB and Kedha Devdhar RHB had forgettable List A careers. However Ashish reddy was not bad in 6 T20 matches he played.
